INDUSTRIAL TRAINING (LI) IMPLEMENTATION DURING COVID-19 MOVEMENT CONTROL ORDER

Like the other subject, the implementation of industrial training (LI) was also affected by the movement control order (MCO) due to the Covid-19 outbreak. The implementation of LI is eight credit hours; therefore, the LI period is 16 weeks. The students of FBKT under SEH SEB and SBT program begin their LI on 16th February 2020. Most students have performed LI for a month in the industry and have submitted a daily log during their first month of LI. However, on 18th March 2020, the first phase of MCO began, the LI students were requested leave from work or work from home during the pandemic, and the coordinator of LI was then contacting all of the LI students in every industry to find out their condition during the MCO. At this time, collecting data regarding the current situation of the students required by multiple parties, especially HEPA, was conducted. On 27th March 2020, En. Azzhar bin Mohd Nawi distributed a particular LI guideline to all the program's LI coordinators. Faculty management held a meeting to respond current situation on 29th March 2020 between the Dean, Deputy Dean (academic and student affairs), and each program's LI coordinator by using a virtual meeting platform. The faculty management has agreed for the LI coordinator to develop a guideline for LI during MCO and to create a template for the case study assignment replacing activities in the industry. Therefore, for LI students who did not receive assignments from the industry or on leave from work because of Covid-19 outbreaks should follow the guideline based on the timeline bellows.
